Life's New Look...
Written by Lydia
Thursday, 07 July 2016 15:35

Well the scaffolding is down at last and the painting almost finished so just to give you a clue as to what you're looking for, if you haven't visited us before, here is a photo...

New Colours at Life

We think it makes The Centre look much smarter and are grateful to all the owners, occupiers and those at North Somerset council, who worked together to get the job done, as well as the decorators, scaffolders, and all who worked on the guttering, rendering etc. Thank you all!

And a special thank you to all our faithful customers and supporters who braved the work overhead and came in anyway! We think you're all amazing!

On a personal note we think this is a great start to our celebrations for our first five years as Life. God has been so faithful supplying our needs as they arise, 'our daily bread'. We plan to celebrate our fifth birthday a little later in the year so please watch this space and our facebook page Life-WsM for more details in the near future.

We'd love to hear from you, what you think of the new decor and if you've spotted the natural cross which has formed on the building because of the new paint-work, which someone has already pointed out to us. So pop in say hello and have a cuppa with us whenever you're free.

Also don't forget we always set aside time at the beginning of each day for prayer and Bible reading, and all who would like to join in are welcome, Monday - Friday 9am and Saturday 10am.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

A New Look At Life. .

We have been covered in scaffolding and will be for another couple of weeks but a vibrant new look is coming.

All the owners in the rank of buildings called 'The Centre' here in Weston-super-Mare have been working in co-operation with each other along with the local council to have the fronts of all the buildings repaired and decorated at the same time. A lovely bit of community co-operation to celebrate. We have also carried out an internal re-shuffle. which we hope you will like.

Look out also for special events coming up because believe it or not it will be 5 years in August since we opened the doors with only the books from our own book shelves to sell. God is beyond good!

We look forward to seeing you soon.

God Bless you.

April News 'Meet The Author'
Written by Lydia
Monday, 11 April 2016 11:55

Well here we are well and truly in British Springtime. As I write the rain is pouring down and the heating is back on at Life!

But the sun will shine again! God has promised "He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your heart with joy" Acts 14:17 (NIV)

We need the rainy seasons to feed us when its hot and dry later on, just the way in our spiritual life we have to learn to live through the storms that come, because it's in those times we learn more about the one who says "peace, be still" to our troubled heart and mind.

It's about those life storms that Edward Muttema writes in his new book 'God is in the Business of PIcking up the Pieces'. You can come along to our next 'Meet The Author' with Edward on Saturday 23rd April from 10am-1pm and he will be happy to talk with you and if you want to buy the book, sign it for you as well.

Edward lives locally and attends church in Weston-super-Mare. He writes from the heart and inspires his readers to face the challenges of life with faith and hope.

"We have all been bruised, broken, and hurt. It is the stuff that life is made of. A family tradgedy, a failed marriage, a debilitating disease, the loss of a loved one. You may have reached the end of your tether - distraught, helpless, and beyond pain. This is real, and for some, unless something dramatic happens, there is no light at the end of the tunnel. This book challenges you to face the rigors of life head-on. It offers an alternative. A realization that behind every brokenness is a God whose business is picking up the pices, your broken pieces - a God who is competent to deal with your hurt, pain and dissapointment, ready to restore the broken and heal the fainthearted..."

The book is priced at £12.95 and already available from Life.

Come along on 23rd April between 10am and 1pm to find out more.

There will, as always, be tea and coffee flowing and room to sit and chat and meet with new friends and old.
