The Walls Came Down!

As you may know the walls finally came down earlier this year and we now have a comfortable area at the back of the shop where people can meet and pray, talk, read, study the Bible and drink coffee or tea together.

This has also given us a long awaited permanent home for the very popular pre-loved books and CD's as well as room for another table and chairs where people can meet and chat in the middle of the shop, an extensive children's book area and we still have a range of gifts and cards as well as CD's, DVD's, and Church supplies. You are always welcome to browse or just sit a while over a free cup of tea or coffee and we now have a permanent boiling water supply too which makes it even easier!

Our next project, God willing, is to do some work on the old outside toilet to 'bring it into the 20th century'. Yes we do know it's the 21st century but we're taking it gently! We would like to be able to make the facilities available, safely, to customers and also hope to twin the toilet in the Tear Fund Toilet Twinning scheme once it's finished....watch this space!

Meet The Author

We had a great morning with Wendy Reakes at our Meet The Author morning back in April with many good conversations over cups of tea and coffee and a wonderful atmosphere in the shop.

Creating Opportunities

Our next Meet The Author will be on Saturday 13th June from 10am-1pm, when we will have another local author with us launching his new book 'Creating Opportunities At The Edge Of Chaos'. Edward Mutema, originally from Zimbabwe, now in fellowship in Weston-super-Mare, has written several books. He is a teacher/evangelist with extensive experience in leadership and motivational training.

"The world is teetering on the edge, every day - morally, socially, economically...There is no comfort zone. you are called upon to take the challenge. Jesus lived on the edge. So should we. "is anything too hard for the Lord?" That is the mindset at the edge of chaos. Nothing is impossible. Opportunities abound, if you look at them. It is hard work. It requires persistance, perseverance and tenacity. There is a price to pay. Are you willing to  pay that price?...."

Come to Life on the 13th June and find out more!
